Description

Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, these Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken Wings are the ultimate game day snack or a tasty weeknight treat. Coated in a tangy and slightly sweet buffalo sauce, they are perfectly cooked in the air fryer for a healthier twist on a classic favorite.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Wings:

  • 2 lbs thawed or fresh chicken wings
  • 1 and 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

For the Sauce:

  • 1/3 cup buffalo sauce of choice
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to ensure they get crispy.
  • In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with olive oil, salt, pepper, and baking powder until evenly coated.
  • Place the chicken wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
  • Air fry the wings for 20-25 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time for even crisping.
  • While the wings are cooking, prepare the buffalo sauce. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the buffalo sauce and honey, stirring to combine. Heat until warmed through, about 2-3 minutes.
  • When the wings are crispy and golden brown, remove them from the air fryer.
  • Transfer the wings to a bowl and pour the buffalo sauce over them. Toss to coat the wings evenly.
  • Serve hot, with extra sauce on the side if desired.

Notes

  • If you prefer spicier wings, you can add a few drops of hot sauce to the buffalo sauce mixture.
  • For best results, cook the wings in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket.
  • You can also serve these wings with a side of ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.
