Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, these Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken Wings are the ultimate game day snack or a tasty weeknight treat. Coated in a tangy and slightly sweet buffalo sauce, they are perfectly cooked in the air fryer for a healthier twist on a classic favorite.
Ingredients
Scale
For the Wings:
- 2 lbs thawed or fresh chicken wings
- 1 and 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
For the Sauce:
- 1/3 cup buffalo sauce of choice
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons honey
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to ensure they get crispy.
- In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with olive oil, salt, pepper, and baking powder until evenly coated.
- Place the chicken wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
- Air fry the wings for 20-25 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time for even crisping.
- While the wings are cooking, prepare the buffalo sauce. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the buffalo sauce and honey, stirring to combine. Heat until warmed through, about 2-3 minutes.
- When the wings are crispy and golden brown, remove them from the air fryer.
- Transfer the wings to a bowl and pour the buffalo sauce over them. Toss to coat the wings evenly.
- Serve hot, with extra sauce on the side if desired.
Notes
- If you prefer spicier wings, you can add a few drops of hot sauce to the buffalo sauce mixture.
- For best results, cook the wings in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket.
- You can also serve these wings with a side of ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.
