Description

Angel Chicken Rice is a creamy and flavorful comfort dish made with shredded chicken, rice, and a rich, cheesy sauce. This easy one-pot meal is perfect for family dinners or any occasion when you want something satisfying and delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups cooked chicken, diced or shredded

  • 3 cups cooked rice

  • ½ cup butter, room temperature and cubed

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature and cubed

  • 10.5 ounces cream of chicken soup

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 0.7 ounce Italian dressing mix (I used Good Seasons)

  • 1 cup chicken stock

  • 2 cups shredded Colby Jack cheese, divided use

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the cooked chicken and rice.

  • In a separate saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.

  • Add cream cheese, cream of chicken soup, and garlic to the pan. Stir until the cream cheese and soup are fully combined and smooth.

  • Stir in the Italian dressing mix and chicken stock, continuing to cook until the mixture is heated through.

  • Pour the sauce over the chicken and rice mixture, stirring until everything is well combined.

  • Add 1 ½ cups of shredded Colby Jack cheese and stir until melted and incorporated.

  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of shredded cheese on top.

  • Bake at 350°F for 20–25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.

  • Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • This dish is versatile; feel free to use different types of cheese or rice based on what you have on hand.

  • For added flavor, you can top with additional cheese and bake until it reaches your preferred level of golden-brown crispness.

  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
