Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped apples

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, and cinnamon.
  • In another bowl, combine the mashed bananas, applesauce, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well blended.
  • Mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in the chopped apples.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Notes

  • Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  • For added flavor, you can sprinkle some chopped nuts on top before baking.
