A comforting and hearty baked spaghetti casserole layered with creamy cheese and seasoned ground beef, perfect for family dinners or meal prep.


Ingredients

  • 16 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp butter, sliced

Instructions

  • Cook the Spaghetti:
    Boil the spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Prepare the Meat Sauce:
    In a large skillet, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until soft.
    Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
    Stir in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Make the Cream Mixture:
    In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, ricotta cheese, and sour cream. Mix until smooth.
  • Assemble the Casserole:
    In a baking dish, layer half of the cooked spaghetti.
    Spread the cream cheese mixture over the spaghetti.
    Pour half of the meat sauce over the cream mixture.
    Add the remaining spaghetti on top, followed by the rest of the meat sauce.
    Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
    Finish with grated Parmesan and place butter slices on top.
  • Bake:
    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    Bake the casserole for 30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider mixing in herbs like oregano or basil.
  • This casserole can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator until ready to bake.
