- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups mashed ripe bananas (about 3 bananas)
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
- Add the eggs, mashed bananas, sour cream, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, and mix until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For added flavor, you can sprinkle a few extra chocolate chips on top before baking or add a pinch of nutmeg to the batter.
