Description

This Banana Bread with Chocolate Chips is moist, tender, and filled with rich chocolate flavor. Perfect for breakfast or a snack, it’s a delightful twist on classic banana bread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups mashed ripe bananas (about 3 bananas)
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
  • Add the eggs, mashed bananas, sour cream, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, and mix until smooth.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For added flavor, you can sprinkle a few extra chocolate chips on top before baking or add a pinch of nutmeg to the batter.
