Description

Best Peach Dump Cake is a simple, comforting dessert that layers juicy peaches with warm spices, topped with a buttery yellow cake mix crust. This effortless recipe comes together quickly and bakes into a golden, sweet treat perfect for family gatherings, potlucks, or any time you want a nostalgic, fruit-filled dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 29 ounces peach slices in juice (canned)

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

  • ⅛ teaspoon nutmeg

  • 18.25 ounces yellow cake mix

  • ⅓ cup light brown sugar

  • 12 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into thin slices (pats)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the peach slices with their juice, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir gently to mix.

  • Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.

  • Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the peaches.

  • Sprinkle the light brown sugar evenly on top of the cake mix.

  • Arrange the sliced butter pats evenly over the top.

  • Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.

  • Let cool slightly before serving. Delicious on its own or with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • For fresher taste, you can substitute fresh peaches (about 4 cups, peeled and sliced) with a little added peach juice or syrup.

  • Nutmeg is optional but adds warm depth to the flavor.

  • Make sure butter is sliced thinly to melt evenly during baking.
