Description

Indulge in the deliciousness of Butterfinger Puppy Chow, a sweet and crunchy treat that combines the rich flavors of chocolate and peanut butter with the irresistible crunch of Butterfinger candy. Perfect for parties, snacks, or a quick dessert, this easy-to-make snack will have everyone coming back for more.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 9 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup crushed Butterfinger candy bars (about 4 regular-sized bars)

Instructions

  • Melt the Chocolate and Peanut Butter:
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and unsalted butter. Microwave on high in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth (about 1-2 minutes total). Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Coat the Cereal:
Place the Rice Chex cereal in a large bowl. Pour the melted chocolate and peanut butter mixture over the cereal, gently stirring to coat the cereal evenly.
  • Add the Powdered Sugar:
Transfer the chocolate-coated cereal into a large gallon-sized ziplock bag or large bowl with a lid. Add the powdered sugar, seal the bag or lid, and shake well until all the cereal pieces are coated in powdered sugar.
  • Add the Crushed Butterfinger:
Once the cereal is fully coated, open the bag or bowl and add the crushed Butterfinger pieces. Shake again until the candy is evenly distributed throughout the puppy chow.
  • Serve:
Spread the Butterfinger Puppy Chow out onto a baking sheet to cool and set. Once cooled, transfer it to an airtight container for storage or enjoy right away!

Notes

For extra crunch, consider adding more crushed Butterfinger as a topping before serving.
