  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups diced apple (peeled)
  • 1 cup caramel bits

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  • Stir in the diced apples and caramel bits until evenly distributed.
  • Drop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

  • For added texture, you can sprinkle some chopped nuts on top before baking.
