- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup uncooked white rice
- 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese for topping
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes, until the onion is softened.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, cream of mushroom soup, Worcestershire sauce, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.
- Add the uncooked rice and mix well. Pour in the milk and stir to combine.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the rice is tender.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the Parmesan is golden brown.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, consider mixing in some vegetables like bell peppers or corn.
