Ingredients
Scale
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
- 1 lb pizza dough, rolled out into a rectangle
- 1 cup Mexican cheese blend
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salsa, for dipping
- Guacamole, for dipping
Instructions
- Sauté Aromatics:
- In a skillet, sauté the diced onion and minced garlic over medium heat until they become soft and translucent.
- Cook Beef:
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, stir in the taco seasoning, and cook until the beef is fully browned and no longer pink. Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
- Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Prepare Dough:
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle and cut it into 5 even strips.
- Assemble Breadsticks:
- Spoon the cooked beef mixture down the center of each dough strip, then sprinkle generously with the Mexican cheese blend. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling, pinching along the seams to seal, and make sure the ends are closed.
- Brush & Bake:
- Brush the tops of the sealed breadsticks with olive oil and place them on a prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove and top with additional cheese. Return to the oven and bake for another 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden.
- Serve:
- Enjoy the breadsticks warm with salsa and guacamole for dipping!
