Description

These easy homemade cherry danishes are made with puff pastry and filled with sweet cherry pie filling, creating a flaky, golden treat. Perfect for breakfast or a sweet snack, and topped with a dusting of powdered sugar for that extra touch!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into squares.
  • Spoon cherry pie filling onto the center of each square, then fold the corners into the center to form a pocket.
  • Brush the edges of the pastries with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up.
  • Allow to cool for a few minutes, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • You can use fresh or frozen cherries if you prefer to make your own filling.
  • For a more decadent treat, drizzle with a bit of icing or glaze after dusting with powdered sugar.
