Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb cubed beef steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

    For the Gravy:

    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 2 tablespoons flour
    • 1 1/2 cups milk
    • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dredging Station:
    • In a bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
    • In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
  • Coat the Steak Bites:
    • Dip each cubed steak bite into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and back into the flour mixture. Press gently to ensure a good coating.
  • Fry the Steak Bites:
    • Heat about 1/4 inch of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the coated steak bites in batches, cooking each for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  • Make the Gravy:
    • In a separate pan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour to form a roux and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
