Description
A fun and hearty twist on classic pigs in a blanket—these cheesy hot dogs are wrapped in golden, flaky pizza dough and baked to perfection, then smothered in warm chili and topped with a garlic butter drizzle. Perfect for game days, parties, or quick family dinners.
Ingredients
-
4 hot dogs
-
4 cheddar string cheese sticks
-
1 can (about 13.8 oz) Pillsbury pizza dough
-
1 can (15 oz) chili (with or without beans)
-
¼ cup butter, melted
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
-
Unroll the pizza dough and cut into 4 equal rectangles.
-
Slice each hot dog lengthwise without cutting all the way through. Stuff each with a cheddar string cheese.
-
Wrap each cheese-stuffed hot dog in a piece of pizza dough, sealing the edges.
-
Place wrapped hot dogs seam-side down on the baking sheet.
-
In a small bowl, mix melted butter with garlic powder and chopped parsley. Brush the tops of the dough with the mixture.
-
Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden brown.
-
Meanwhile, heat the chili in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Serve hot dogs with a generous spoonful of chili over the top, or on the side for dipping.
Notes
-
Swap cheddar string cheese for pepper jack or mozzarella for a different flavor.
-
Use crescent dough if preferred; adjust baking time as needed.
- Serve with sour cream, jalapeños, or chopped onions for added flavor.
