- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, water, cornstarch, sugar, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the flank steak slices and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the sliced bell peppers and onion, cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Pour the soy sauce mixture into the skillet and stir to coat the steak and vegetables evenly.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.
- Serve hot over rice or noodles.
Notes
For added flavor, you can drizzle with a bit of sesame oil or top with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
