Description

These Chocolate and Coffee Custard Doughnuts are a delightful indulgence that combine rich cocoa and a hint of coffee flavor in a soft, fluffy doughnut. Fried to golden perfection and dusted with powdered sugar, they’re the perfect treat for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add milk, coffee, egg, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined.
  • Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown.
  • Remove doughnuts from oil and drain on paper towels.
  • Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • You can add chocolate chips or chunks to the batter for extra chocolatey goodness.
  • If you don’t have a deep fryer, you can fry the doughnuts in a pot with enough oil to submerge them.
  • Be careful not to overcrowd the fryer, as this can cause the doughnuts to cook unevenly.
