- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups white sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter. Remove from heat, and stir in sugar, cocoa, vanilla, eggs, flour, baking powder, and salt. Spread batter into prepared pan.
- Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Do not overcook.
- Let cool in the pan before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Make sure not to overbake the brownies. They should still be slightly soft in the center when you test with a toothpick.
- You can add chocolate chips, nuts, or swirls of caramel for extra flavor.
