- 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
- 1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Layer Cherry Filling: Spread the cherry pie filling evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Add Cake Mix: Sprinkle the dry chocolate cake mix evenly over the cherry filling. Do not stir.
- Drizzle with Butter: Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix, covering as much of the surface as possible.
- Optional Toppings: If using, sprinkle chopped walnuts or pecans and chocolate chips over the top.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cherry filling is bubbly.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the dump cake to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.
Notes
