Description

These soft, chewy chocolate chip cookies are made even creamier and richer with the addition of cream cheese. The perfect balance of sweet and slightly tangy, these cookies are loaded with semi-sweet chocolate chips and are irresistibly delicious!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Dough:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Prepare the dough:
    • In a large bowl, beat together the butter, cream cheese, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.
    • Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
    • Gradually add the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until just combined.
    • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Chill the dough:
    • Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. This helps prevent spreading during baking.
  • Preheat and shape:
    • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
    • Scoop dough into 1.5-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on the baking sheets.
  • Bake the cookies:
    • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers are still soft.
    • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  • Serve:
    • Enjoy warm or at room temperature with a glass of milk! These cookies are ultra-soft, rich, and loaded with chocolate chips. The cream cheese adds a subtle tang and makes them extra creamy!

Notes

The dough can be chilled overnight for a deeper flavor. For extra texture, try adding chopped nuts, such as walnuts or pecans.
