A hearty and comforting dish, Macaroni & Beef combines ground beef, tomatoes, and elbow macaroni in a flavorful sauce. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner that the whole family will love!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  • Cook the Beef:
    • In a large skillet or saucepan, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook until the onion is soft and translucent.
  • Add Tomatoes and Seasonings:
    • Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, tomato paste, dried basil, dried oregano, black pepper, and salt. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  • Cook the Macaroni:
    • While the beef mixture is simmering, cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Combine Ingredients:
    • Add the cooked macaroni to the beef mixture and stir until well combined. If desired, stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and incorporated.
  • Serve:
    • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
