- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a small bowl, mix together chopped pecans, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix together melted butter, flour, white sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the egg and milk, then mix until smooth.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the pecan mixture over the batter. Pour the remaining batter over the pecans, then top with the remaining pecan mixture.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove from pan and cool completely on a wire rack.
Notes
For a slightly different flavor, you can substitute the pecans with walnuts or almonds. Make sure to cool the bread completely on a wire rack for the best texture.
