These Cornbread Waffle Bites are a deliciously savory and sweet treat, perfect for breakfast or a fun snack. Served with a rich and indulgent honey butter syrup, they are sure to become a favorite.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cornbread Waffle Bites:

  • 1 cup cornbread mix
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (optional)

For the Honey Butter Syrup:

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your waffle maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • In a bowl, combine the cornbread mix, buttermilk, and egg. Stir until fully combined.
  • Optionally, fold in shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon.
  • Lightly grease the waffle maker and pour the batter onto the waffle iron, cooking until golden brown and crisp, about 3-4 minutes.
  • While the waffles are cooking, prepare the honey butter syrup: In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add honey, maple syrup (if using), and a pinch of salt, stirring until well combined and warmed through.
  • Once the cornbread waffle bites are ready, remove them from the waffle maker and drizzle with the warm honey butter syrup.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can customize these waffle bites by adding your favorite mix-ins such as herbs, diced jalapeños, or even a sprinkle of cinnamon for extra flavor.
  • These waffle bites are best served fresh, but they can be reheated in a toaster for a crispy texture.
