- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup buttermilk
For the Crab Filling:

- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard

- 1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning (optional)
For the Lemon Butter:
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp chopped fresh parsley
- 1 clove garlic, minced
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425F (220C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the cheddar cheese.
- Pour in the buttermilk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently a few times. Pat or roll to about 1-inch thickness and cut out biscuits using a round cutter.
- In a bowl, mix together the crab meat, mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, parsley, and Old Bay seasoning if using.
- Place a small spoonful of crab filling in the center of each biscuit round. Fold the dough around the filling and pinch to seal. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While baking, combine the melted butter, lemon juice, parsley, and minced garlic in a bowl.
- Brush the warm biscuits with the lemon butter mixture after baking.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
