It’s an addictively flavorful recipe that’s perfect for holidays, potlucks, or weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
-
43.5 ounces green beans (three 14.5 oz cans), drained and rinsed
-
¼ cup brown sugar
-
¼ cup butter, melted
-
7 teaspoons soy sauce
-
2 teaspoons garlic powder
-
8 slices bacon, cooked until crisp and chopped
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
In a medium saucepan, combine the brown sugar, melted butter, soy sauce, and garlic powder. Heat over medium until sugar dissolves and mixture is well combined.
-
In a large mixing bowl, toss the drained green beans with the sauce until evenly coated.
-
Transfer the green beans to a baking dish and top with chopped bacon.
-
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until heated through and bubbly.
- Serve hot as a savory, sweet side dish.
Notes
-
You can use fresh or frozen green beans instead of canned; just steam or blanch them first.
-
For extra richness, add a sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese during the last 10 minutes of baking.
- Adjust the sweetness by reducing brown sugar to 2 tablespoons if preferred.
