- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
- 3/4 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring chicken broth to a boil. Add shredded chicken and reduce to a simmer.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in cold butter with a fork until the mixture is crumbly.
- Stir in milk to form a soft dough. Roll out on a floured surface and cut into small squares or rectangles.
- Drop the dough pieces into the boiling broth and chicken mixture.
- Cook for 10-12 minutes or until dumplings are tender and cooked through. Season with salt and pepper before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, consider adding diced carrots and celery to the broth before adding the dumplings. This dish is best served hot and fresh!
