- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar (for cream cheese swirl)
- 1 egg (for cream cheese swirl)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, melt the butter. Stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Add cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt, mixing until combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1 egg until smooth.
- Spread half of the brownie batter in the baking dish. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture on top, then dollop the remaining brownie batter over the cream cheese.
- Use a knife to swirl the batters together to create a marbled effect. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
For an extra touch, sprinkle chocolate chips on top before baking or drizzle with chocolate sauce after cutting.
