  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for cream cheese swirl)
  • 1 egg (for cream cheese swirl)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  • In a bowl, melt the butter. Stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Add cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt, mixing until combined.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1 egg until smooth.
  • Spread half of the brownie batter in the baking dish. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture on top, then dollop the remaining brownie batter over the cream cheese.
  • Use a knife to swirl the batters together to create a marbled effect. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  • Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

For an extra touch, sprinkle chocolate chips on top before baking or drizzle with chocolate sauce after cutting.
