Description

A hearty and comforting lasagna made effortlessly in a crockpot, layered with rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and plenty of gooey cheese. Perfect for busy weeknights!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 box (9 oz) lasagna noodles, uncooked
  • 1 container (15 oz) ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups spinach (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a skillet, brown the ground beef with chopped onion and garlic. Drain any excess grease. Add marinara sauce, tomato sauce, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • In a medium bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, Parmesan, and spinach if using. Stir until well combined.
  • In the crockpot, spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom. Layer uncooked lasagna noodles, breaking them as needed to fit. Add a layer of the ricotta mixture, then a layer of mozzarella. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of meat sauce and mozzarella on top.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until the noodles are tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

For extra flavor, add Italian seasoning or crushed red pepper flakes to the meat sauce.
