This hearty and comforting casserole features layers of frozen pierogies, savory kielbasa, and tender onions, all cooked together in a crockpot. Topped with melted cheddar cheese, it’s an easy, flavorful meal that will please the whole family.


Ingredients

  • 1 package frozen pierogies
  • 1 pound kielbasa, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • In a crockpot, layer half of the frozen pierogies on the bottom.
  • Add half of the sliced kielbasa, chopped onion, and minced garlic on top of the pierogies.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Repeat the layers with the remaining pierogies, kielbasa, onion, and garlic.
  • Pour the chicken broth over the top.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the casserole during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  • Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For a creamier casserole, you can stir in some sour cream before serving.
  • If you prefer crispy pierogies, you can broil the casserole for a few minutes at the end to crisp up the top.
