Description

These Crunchy Asian-Style Chicken Tacos are a perfect blend of tender, flavorful marinated chicken and a crisp, tangy Asian slaw. Wrapped in crunchy wonton wrappers and topped with sweet chili sauce and sesame seeds, these tacos offer an irresistible bite-sized burst of flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken & Marinade:

  • 2 skinless, boneless chicken breasts, thinly sliced

  • 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

  • 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce

  • 2 teaspoons fresh garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced

Asian Slaw:

  • 1 bag coleslaw mix

  • 1/4 cup green onions, diced

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon honey

Shell & Toppings:

  • 16 wonton wrappers

  • Sweet chili sauce, for topping

  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

  • Chopped cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chicken: In a bowl, combine the chicken slices with teriyaki sauce, sesame oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Stir well and let it marinate for 15-20 minutes.

  • Make the Asian Slaw: In a separate bowl, combine the coleslaw mix, diced green onions, sesame oil, rice vinegar, soy sauce, and honey. Toss well until the slaw is evenly coated and set aside.

  • Prepare the Wonton Wrappers: Heat a pan over medium heat. Place the wonton wrappers in the pan and cook them on both sides until they become crispy and golden brown (about 1-2 minutes per side). Remove them from the pan and set aside.

  • Cook the Chicken: In the same pan, cook the marinated chicken over medium heat until fully cooked (about 6-8 minutes). Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.

  • Assemble the Tacos: Take a crispy wonton wrapper, and fill it with a spoonful of the cooked chicken. Top with a generous serving of the Asian slaw, and drizzle with sweet chili sauce. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped cilantro.

  • Serve: Serve immediately while the tacos are crispy and fresh.

Notes

  • You can use store-bought coleslaw mix for convenience, or shred your own cabbage and carrots for a fresher option.

  • If you prefer a milder flavor, reduce the amount of soy sauce or omit the sesame oil in the slaw.
