Description

These indulgent doughnuts feature a rich cheesecake filling paired with a tangy balsamic blueberry compote, all encased in crispy, golden fried dough. The combination of sweet and savory flavors makes these doughnuts a unique treat perfect for dessert or a special breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine the blueberries, balsamic vinegar, and sugar. Cook over low heat until the blueberries burst and the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and let cool.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Roll out the biscuit dough on a floured surface and cut into rounds using a biscuit cutter.
  • Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture onto half of the rounds, then top with a spoonful of the blueberry mixture. Place another round of dough on top and crimp the edges to seal.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the doughnuts in batches until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels.
  • Serve the doughnuts warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a more pronounced balsamic flavor, you can reduce the balsamic vinegar mixture to thicken it further before using.
  • If you prefer, you can dust the fried doughnuts with powdered sugar or drizzle extra blueberry sauce on top before serving.
