- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups peeled and chopped apples
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- Beat in the flour mixture alternately with the milk, mixing just until incorporated.
- Fold in the apples and walnuts. Spread the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 40 to 50 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Notes
For added flavor, consider sprinkling some cinnamon sugar on top before baking. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delightful dessert!
