Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Sugar, for sprinkling

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Unroll the pie crusts and use a cookie cutter to cut out circles (about 3 inches in diameter).
  • Place a spoonful of cherry pie filling in the center of each circle.
  • Fold the circles in half to form a pocket and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
  • Brush each pie bite with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sugar for a touch of sweetness and shine.
  • Place on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Feel free to substitute the cherry filling with other fruit fillings, such as apple or blueberry, for a different twist.
  • For a little extra flavor, you can add a dash of cinnamon to the sugar before sprinkling it on top.
  • These are best served warm, but they can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
