Description

These Easy Turtle Bars are a decadent dessert combining a buttery crust with layers of pecans, rich caramel, and gooey chocolate. Perfect for sharing at gatherings or indulging yourself!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  • Prepare the Crust: In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar, and softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  • Bake the Crust: Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  • Add Pecans: Remove the crust from the oven and immediately sprinkle the pecan halves evenly over the hot crust.
  • Drizzle Caramel: Drizzle the caramel sauce over the pecans, spreading it out to cover them evenly.
  • Add Chocolate Chips: Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the caramel layer.
  • Final Bake: Return the baking dish to the oven and bake for an additional 10-12 minutes, or until the chocolate chips are melted and the caramel is bubbly.
  • Cool and Cut: Remove from the oven and let cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • For an extra touch, you can sprinkle a bit of sea salt on top before serving.
