Description

These vibrant Grinch cookies are perfect for the holiday season! With a refreshing peppermint flavor and a touch of festive green color, these soft cookies are topped with red heart sprinkles and drizzled with white candy melts to create the Grinch’s signature “fur”. A fun and delicious treat for all ages!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • Green food coloring
  • Red heart sprinkles
  • White candy melts

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the peppermint extract and egg, and mix until well combined.
  • Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
  • Add green food coloring to the dough, a few drops at a time, until you reach your desired shade of green.
  • Roll the dough into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Gently press a red heart sprinkle into the center of each cookie.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the cookies are set.
  • Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Once the cookies have cooled, melt the white candy melts according to the package instructions. Drizzle the melted candy over the cooled cookies to create the Grinch’s “fur”.

Notes

  • For extra holiday flair, you can also add a few mini chocolate chips or holiday-themed sprinkles to the dough.
  • The cookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
  • If you don’t have white candy melts, you can use white chocolate chips as a substitute.
