Description

This French Onion Beef Casserole combines the richness of ground beef, creamy mushroom soup, and the bold flavor of French onion dip. Topped with crispy fried onions, this comforting casserole is easy to prepare and perfect for a weeknight dinner. It’s a hearty, flavorful dish that the whole family will love!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 ounces dried egg noodles

  • 1 pound lean ground beef

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 2 cans (10.75 ounces each) condensed cream of mushroom soup

  • 1 (15-ounce) jar Lay’s French Onion Dip

  • ½ cup French’s fried onions

  • Freshly chopped parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Cook the Noodles: Cook the egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

  • Cook the Beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Drain any excess fat.

  • Combine the Ingredients: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef, cooked egg noodles, cream of mushroom soup, and French onion dip. Mix until well combined.

  • Transfer to Baking Dish: Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and spread it evenly.

  • Top with Fried Onions: Sprinkle the French’s fried onions evenly over the top of the casserole.

  • Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and bubbly and the top is golden brown.

  • Serve: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

  • If you prefer a creamier casserole, you can add an extra can of cream of mushroom soup.

  • You can substitute the French onion dip with a homemade version or a different flavored dip if preferred.

  • For a bit of spice, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes or some hot sauce.
