Ingredients
-
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
-
1/4 cup powdered sugar
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
8 slices bread (white or brioche)
-
4 large strawberries, sliced
-
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
-
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
-
1/4 teaspoon salt
-
2 large eggs, beaten
-
1/2 cup milk
-
1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
-
Vegetable oil (for frying)
-
Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
-
In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
-
Spread a generous amount of the cream cheese mixture on one side of four bread slices. Top with sliced strawberries, then cover with the remaining bread slices to form sandwiches.
-
In a shallow dish, combine flour, cinnamon, and salt.
-
In another bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.
-
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat (about 350°F / 175°C).
-
Dip each sandwich first in the flour mixture, then in the egg mixture, and again in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating.
-
Fry sandwiches in the hot oil until golden brown and crispy on both sides, about 2–3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
- While still warm, sprinkle granulated sugar over sandwiches. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
-
Use brioche bread for a richer flavor and softer texture.
-
Serve immediately for the best crispy texture.
- Can be served with a drizzle of chocolate or berry sauce for extra indulgence.
