Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 egg
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, sugar, and egg until smooth.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until well combined and a smooth batter forms.
  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 375°F (190°C).
  • Using a small cookie scoop or tablespoon, carefully drop batter into the hot oil. Fry in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch.
  • Remove the funnel cake bites from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  • Dust with powdered sugar just before serving for a sweet, fair-inspired finish.
