Indulge in these tender and flavorful Garlic Butter Baked Scallops, topped with crispy breadcrumbs and Parmesan. Perfect for a quick, elegant dinner or special occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb sea scallops, cleaned and patted dry
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or oven-safe skillet.
  • Arrange the scallops in a single layer in the prepared baking dish. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Pour the garlic butter mixture evenly over the scallops.
  • Sprinkle breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese over the scallops, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the scallops are opaque and the tops are golden and crispy. The internal temperature should reach 130°F (54°C).
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

  • Serve with a side of steamed vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper or a dash of white wine to the garlic butter mixture.
