Description

These Garlic Butter Baked Scallops are a simple yet elegant dish, perfect for any special occasion or weeknight dinner. The tender scallops are baked in a rich garlic butter sauce and topped with a crispy breadcrumb-Parmesan crust, making each bite a burst of flavor. With minimal prep and a short baking time, this dish is as easy as it is impressive.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh scallops
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Rinse scallops and gently pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  • In a small bowl, combine minced garlic and melted butter, stirring well to combine.
  • Place scallops in a baking dish and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Pour the garlic butter mixture evenly over the scallops.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and chopped parsley.
  • Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the scallops, covering them well.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the scallops are cooked through and the topping is golden brown.
  • Serve hot, garnished with extra parsley if desired. Enjoy!

Notes

  • You can use Panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch and texture.
  • For an added flavor boost, drizzle a little lemon juice over the scallops before serving.
  • Be careful not to overcook the scallops as they can become tough if baked too long. They should be opaque and firm to the touch when done.
