Description

Tender steak bites seared in garlic butter, served over creamy mashed potatoes—an irresistible comfort meal!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Steak Bites:

  • 1 lb (450g) sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley for garnish

For the Mashed Potatoes:

  • 2 lbs (900g) potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Prepare the Mashed Potatoes:
    • Place the cubed potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
    • Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the butter and milk, and mash until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Keep warm.
  • Cook the Steak Bites:
    • While the potatoes are cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Add the steak bites to the skillet and season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, or until the steak is browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness.
    • Remove the steak bites from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the butter and minced garlic. Cook until the garlic is fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Combine and Serve:
    • Return the steak bites to the skillet and toss to coat with the garlic butter and thyme. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
    • Serve the garlic butter steak bites over the creamy mashed potatoes and garnish with chopped parsley.
