Description

Indulge in this hearty comfort food featuring tender steak bites tossed in a rich garlic butter sauce, served over creamy mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Steak Bites:
    • 1 lb beef sirloin or tenderloin, cut into bite-sized pieces
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • Salt and pepper, to taste
    • 4 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
    • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • For the Mash:
    • 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
    • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
    • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
    • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Cook the Steak Bites:
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Season the beef pieces with salt and pepper.
    • Add the beef to the skillet in a single layer, ensuring not to overcrowd. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  • Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium.
    • Add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
    • Stir in the butter until melted and combined with the garlic. Return the steak bites to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic butter. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  • Prepare the Mash:
    • While the steak is cooking, place the potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15 minutes.
    • Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
    • Add milk and butter to the potatoes. Mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve:
    • Serve the garlic butter steak bites over the creamy mashed potatoes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider using beef broth in the garlic butter sauce. Adjust the garlic and seasoning according to your taste preferences.
