For the Garlic Toast:

  • 8 slices of bread
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)

For Topping:

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Sloppy Joes:
    • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
    • Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are tender.
    • Stir in the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens.
  • Prepare the Garlic Toast:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley.
    • Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the bread slices.
    • Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the toast is golden and crispy.
  • Assemble the Melts:
    • Spoon the Sloppy Joe mixture over the garlic toast slices.
