Description

Golden Custard Donuts are soft, fluffy donuts filled with rich, creamy custard and topped with a sweet vanilla glaze. Fried to golden perfection and filled with a luscious custard center, these donuts are a delicious treat for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Custard filling

Instructions

  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add milk, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (180°C).
  • Drop spoonfuls of batter into the oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Remove donuts from oil and let drain on a paper towel-lined rack.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
  • Dip each donut into the glaze, then let it set on a cooling rack.
  • Fill a piping bag with custard filling and pipe into the center of each donut.
  • Enjoy your golden custard donuts!

Notes

  • For a quicker custard filling, you can use store-bought custard or pastry cream.
  • Make sure the oil temperature stays consistent while frying for even cooking.
  • Donuts are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
