  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder (or 1-inch fresh turmeric, grated)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger powder (or 1/2-inch fresh ginger, grated)
  • Pinch of black pepper (enhances turmeric absorption)
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
  • 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil or ghee (optional, for creaminess)

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, combine the milk, turmeric powder (or fresh turmeric), cinnamon powder, and ginger powder (or fresh ginger).
  • Heat the mixture over medium heat, whisking continuously to avoid lumps and to fully incorporate the spices.
  • Once the mixture is warm (not boiling), add the black pepper, honey or maple syrup (if using), and coconut oil or ghee (if using).
