Instructions
For the Greek Turkey Meatballs:
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) or heat a skillet over medium heat if pan-frying.
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, chopped onion, parsley, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
-
Roll the mixture into 1 to 1.5-inch meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
-
If baking, cook for 20-25 minutes or until the meatballs are fully cooked and golden brown. If pan-frying, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook meatballs for 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
-
Remove from the oven or skillet and set aside to cool slightly.
For the Tzatziki Sauce:
-
In a small bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber (drained), minced garlic, lemon juice, chopped dill, and olive oil.
-
Mix until smooth and well combined.
-
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
-
Serve the tzatziki sauce on the side or drizzle over the meatballs.
Notes
-
If you prefer a lighter version, you can use low-fat Greek yogurt for the tzatziki.
-
To make the meatballs more flavorful, feel free to add extra herbs like mint or thyme.
- The meatballs can be served with a side of roasted vegetables, pita bread, or a Greek salad.
