- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups thinly sliced potatoes
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Beef:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent and fragrant.
- Drain any excess fat.
- Layer the Casserole:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth.
- In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes.
- Top with half of the cooked ground beef mixture.
- Pour half of the soup mixture over the beef and potatoes.
- Sprinkle with half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef mixture, soup mixture, and cheese.
- Bake:
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Serve:
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
