These vibrant skewers combine sweet pineapple and savory ham with colorful vegetables, perfect for grilling and summer gatherings.

- 1 lb (450 g) ham, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 fresh pineapple, peeled, cored, and cut into 1-inch chunks
- 1 red bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 green bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 red onion, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- Skewers (wooden or metal)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, olive oil, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger to make the marinade.
- In a large bowl, combine the ham cubes and pineapple chunks. Pour half of the marinade over them and toss to coat. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes (if using metal skewers, skip this step).
- Preheat the grill to medium heat.
- Thread the marinated ham, pineapple, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and red onion alternately onto the skewers.
- Grill the skewers for 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally and basting with the remaining marinade, until the ham is heated through and the vegetables are slightly charred.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve hot.
Notes
Serve with a side of rice or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
