Instructions
- Make the Dough (if homemade):
In a small bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
In a separate large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, stirring to form a dough. Knead for about 5 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
Cover the dough with a clean towel and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until it doubles in size. - Prepare the Sauce (if homemade):
In a small saucepan, combine crushed tomatoes, oregano, garlic powder, sugar, salt, and pepper. Simmer over low heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and set aside. - Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. - Shape the Dough:
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into small portions. Roll each portion into a ball, then flatten them into mini pizza rounds. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter or a knife to cut the edges into a heart shape. - Assemble the Pizzas:
Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce on each mini pizza base. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and your desired toppings. - Bake the Pizzas:
Place the mini pizzas on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and melted. - Serve:
