Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Heat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix Sugars and Butter: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and baking soda. Gradually add this flour mixture to the creamed butter mixture, mixing until combined.
- Add Chocolate Chips and Nuts: Stir in the chocolate chips and walnut pieces, if using.
