Description

These Homemade Krispy Kremes bring the famous light, fluffy, and sweet doughnuts right into your kitchen. Perfectly golden and crisp on the outside with a melt-in-your-mouth soft interior, these doughnuts are coated with powdered sugar for a deliciously sweet finish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Heat the milk until warm, then add sugar and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, eggs, and butter. Mix until dough forms.
  • Knead the dough for 5 minutes, then cover and let rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  • Roll out dough and cut into donut shapes. Let rise again for 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pan to 350°F (175°C) and fry donuts until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side.
  • Coat donuts in powdered sugar while still warm.

Notes

  • You can add a glaze instead of powdered sugar for a traditional Krispy Kreme finish.
  • For a lighter doughnut, ensure the oil temperature is accurate when frying.
  • Make sure the dough is thoroughly kneaded for the best texture.
