Description

This Hot Honey Chex Mix is a bold, sweet and spicy snack that packs a punch. With crunchy cereal, savory pretzels, cheesy crackers, and roasted cashews, it’s coated in a buttery honey-sriracha glaze that’s baked to crispy perfection. Perfect for parties, game day, or anytime snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups Chex cereal (any mix of rice, corn, and/or wheat)

  • 1 1/2 to 2 cups pretzels

  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups cheese crackers

  • 1 cup roasted cashews

  • 6 tablespoons salted butter, cubed

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 3 tablespoons sriracha hot sauce

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • In a large bowl, combine Chex cereal, pretzels, cheese crackers, and cashews.

  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in honey, sriracha, and soy sauce. Bring to a gentle simmer while stirring constantly.

  • Pour the hot mixture over the cereal mix and gently stir until evenly coated.

  • Spread the mixture in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet.

  • Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes for even toasting.

  • Remove from oven and let cool completely. The mix will crisp up as it cools.

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.

Notes

Adjust the amount of sriracha to your heat preference. For extra crunch, toss in additional roasted nuts or seeds. You can also drizzle with extra honey after baking for a touch more sweetness.
